Dr. Chris Onyebuchi Ifediora, a multi-award winning Associate Professor of Medicine, is the Founder and President of the OCI Foundation. He is also the Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT).  His awards include recognitions from Rotary International,  the World Peace Advocates (an affiliate of the UN), the Nigerian Bar Association, the Nigerian Independent Media Practitioners and the Association of Global Youths. He is an “Eminent Peace Ambassador”, an international recognition from the “International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA)”. IAWPA is a global NGO affiliated with the United Nations Global Compact, a body established in 2000 by the United Nations under its former Secretary-General, Kofi Anan.

 

Dr. Ifediora holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) degree from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Nigeria, as well as a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from the University of Liverpool, Liverpool, United Kingdom. He is a Harvard-trained healthcare leader, and holds an Associate Alumnus status with the prestigious Harvard Medical School, Boston, United States of America. His times at the Harvard Medical School can be viewed HERE.

Currently, Dr. Chris works as a Family Physician in the City of Gold Coast, Australia. He holds the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), and also serves this honorable college as a Supervisor, Mentor, and Medical Educator for registrars and other junior doctors.
He is also a College Examiner for doctors wishing to obtain the FRACGP Fellowship.
 In August 2017, Dr. Ifediora was elected as a Faculty Board Member of the RACGP, Queensland, Australia.

 

As an Associate Professor, OCI (as he is also known) also partly contributes to the training of medical students at the Griffith University School of Medicine, Gold Coast Campus, Australia, where he is a Clinical Skills Tutor. He is also a member of the Australian and New Zealand Association for Health Professional Educators (ANZAHPE), and has published a number of scholarly articles in some reputable peer-reviewed journals.

As a medical undergraduate, Dr. Ifediora served as Secretary Generals for both the Federation of African Medical Students’ Associations (FAMSA) and the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Medical Students Association (NAUMSA).

 

Apart from the OCI Foundation, which he founded, Dr. Chris is also an Executive Member of the “Ask The Gynaecologists” (ATG; https://askthegynaedoctor.com/), an online forum of professionals providing free medical support to women in Nigeria and other African Countries.

 

Dr. Chris Ifediora regularly fronts the media to talk about his research papers, which he does through the Griffith University Medical School, Australia.
