Friday, February 7, 2025: The OCI Foundation has, again, re-iterated its commitment at inspiring improved academic performances in medical training.
This was made by the Foundation’s President, Dr Chris Ifediora, who was represented by Mr Onyibor Machie at the organisation’s second meeting with the leadership of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University’s College of Health Sciences (CHS) in Nnewi, Anambra State, Nigeria.
The new Provost, Prof, JKC Emejulu, expressed gratitude on behalf of the institution, and expressed their willingness to continue co-operation with the OCI Foundation International.
The award is to be known as the “OCI Foundation’s Award for Excellence in Pathology”, and will be an annual program that gives cash rewards to the top three performers in Pathology. The award presentation will be part of the Swearing-in and Graduating ceremonies for each new batch of medical doctors from the University.
The OCI Foundation’s President, Dr Chris Ifediora, is an alumnus of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Medical School and made the very first Distinction Score in Pathology during his 3rd MBBS Exam at the institution. This history informed the OCI Foundation’s board’s decision to fund this award.
Team OCI Foundation at the meeting also included Mrs Jide UDEAJA and two Cyfed Scholars (beneficiaries of the OCI Foundation’s undergraduate scholarships), Miss Chidimma Chiara AMUA and Miss Onyinye Vivian EZEIKE.
