On Sunday, January the 5th, 2020, five Cyfed Scholars, the recipients of the OCI Foundation’s Cyfed Undergraduate Scholarship, had a social hang out at Shoprite, Onitsha, Anambra State, Nigeria. A post released on Facebook by the scholars after the event read: “OCI Foundation brought us together; We are #CYFED SCHOLARS”. On a WhatsApp Chatroom where the Scholars interact with the OCI Foundation’s President, one of them said, “Yes, it was fun, lovely and those that would not made it today missed a lot”, and in a show of appreciation to the President, another Scholar said, ” . . . We are glad you approved it, we represented you well, bearing in mind your good efforts towards the growth of the OCI Foundation in diaspora.”
Cyfed Scholars are undergraduates in different Nigerian tertiary institutions, who receive annual financial aids from the OCI Foundation in support of their education.
