Dr Chukwuanugo Ogbuagu, one of the directors of the OCI Foundation’s Gynocular Anti-Cancer Project, has announced the establishment of an Early Dementia Diagnosis Clinic at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH).
Dr Ogbuagu has been passionate about enlightening Nigerians about dementia, in an effort to de-stigmatize the illness, and ensure that appropriate care is sought by those affected.
He stated that this clinic is the first of its kind in Nigeria. The Primary Health Care facilities at NAUTH will offer the services using a validated Tablet-based Cognitive Assessment tool that is also used for Brain Health Assessment.
The service, which was commissioned by the NAUTH hospital Management, is free.
