On Friday, December 23, 2022, the OCI Foundation’s President, Dr Chris IFEDIORA, once Homeless in London, made an emotional return with his family from Australia, express GRATITUDE to the woman (Mrs Grace OBERE) that “Saved” him in back 2006.
“Mummy” Grace Obere picked up Dr Ifediora, a complete stranger to her at the time, from the Jubilee Christian Centre, a Church in South-East London. She would go on to provide him with accommodation and food for 3 full months, starting from September 24, 2006, up until just before the Christmas of that same year.
Dan and Etito Obere, two of Mummy’s 2 sons that lived with her at the time, became brothers to Dr Chris Ifediora. Dan, particularly, provided listening ears to Chris’ sad tales during those hard times, and was a warm associate for him far into those dark and cold London nights.
During this visit on December 23, 2022, Dan was on ground with Mummy to welcome Dr Ifediora and his family (wife and 4 children). Etito could not make the trip from Manchester, where he now lives, but joined the reunion through a video call.
Mr John NWEZE, now referred fondly as “Big Bro Johnny”, made all these possible, as he was the one who picked up Dr Ifediora from the streets of London, to the Jubilee Christian Church. He, it was as well, who made that announcement to the Church, an announcement that spurred Mummy into action. Johnny’s rich story with Dr Chris will be told on another day.
Melody Chidumebi IFEDIORA, the first daughter of Dr Chris, summed it up very well with the statement, “Thanks for Helping My Dad”.
The Ifediora Family, and the entire OCI Foundation International, is deeply grateful to Mummy Grace Obere and her sons, along with Elder Johnny NWEZE, the world’s Biggest Brother.
This true life story typifies how, and why, the OCI Foundation and its President RISES, BY LIFTING OTHERS.
