Dr. Zango, Dr. Ifediora, and Hon. Faskari to be Recognised for Humanitarian Transformational Impact
In a major highlight of this year’s national celebration of impact and service, three distinguished Nigerians—Dr. Mohammed M. Zango, Dr. Onyebuchi Chris Ifediora, and Hon. Hamza Sule Faskari—have been announced as recipients of key awards at the 2025 Nigerian Humanitarian Awards & Magazine, scheduled to hold on August 22, 2025, at the Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja.
Organized by the Humanitarian Achievement and Outreach Foundation, the prestigious annual event recognizes individuals and organizations that have made exceptional contributions to social development, humanitarian service, and national transformation.
Dr. Mohammed M. Zango, FPSN, the former Managing Director of NNPC Medical Services, will receive the Award for Excellence in Public Health Leadership in recognition of his outstanding work in expanding Nigeria’s healthcare systems and shaping public health strategies that have touched countless lives across the country. With a legacy of institutional reform, youth mentorship, and medical innovation, Dr. Zango has remained a national symbol of integrity and impact in the health sector.
Dr. Onyebuchi Chris Ifediora, an internationally acclaimed medical professional and founder of the OCI Foundation, will be honored as the Global Humanitarian Youth Impact Leader of the Year. Through campaigns like the “Arm Our Youths Health Campaign” and robust scholarship programs, Dr. Ifediora has empowered thousands of young Nigerians with tools for health education and academic excellence, bridging the gap between medical advocacy and youth development both locally and internationally.
From the environmental front, Hon. Hamza Sule Faskari, Commissioner for Environment, Katsina State, will be conferred with the Community Service Excellence Award. Widely respected for his grassroots initiatives on climate action, environmental sanitation, afforestation, and sustainability education, Hon. Faskari has become a beacon of progressive leadership and environmental stewardship in Northern Nigeria.
This year’s Nigerian Humanitarian Awards is expected to draw prominent figures from across government, civil society, media, and the private sector, all united in the spirit of recognizing impact-driven leadership.
The event, which features a red carpet reception, award presentations, and the official unveiling of the 2025 Humanitarian Magazine, will once again spotlight the powerful stories of individuals driving real change in their communities.
