Lady Ngozi M. OKAFOR, Desk Officer, OCI Foundation’s IFOMSSA Awards
In January 2021, Lady Ngozi Maureen Okafor became the Desk Officer of the OCI Foundation’s IFOMMSA Junior and Senior Scholarship Awards. The IFOMSSA (Ifedioramma Okafor Memorial Secondary School Academic) Awards constitutes two of the OCI Foundation’s six sets of financial incentives on offer to Nigerian students.
Lady Okafor is a passionate educator and guidance counsellor, who is dedicated to giving young people all the help they need (mental, intellectual, social) to thrive in their society.
She studied at the prestigious Queens College, Enugu, Nigeria, before obtaining Bacherlor’s Degree in Guidance and Counselling from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Nigeria. Maureen currently awaits her Master’s Degree in Guidance and Counseling from the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam, Nigeria.
Mrs Okafor has been a founding member of the OCI foundation, and was present during the inaugural unveiling of the vision at the country home of the OCI Foundation’s President (Dr Chris Ifediora) at Nsugbe, Nigeria.
She has served as board member in several academic institutions, and has contributed in multiple voluntary capacities efforts towards the empowerment of young people.
Presently, Maureen is the Head of Department, Education Services, Otuocha Educational Zone of Anambra State, Nigeria. She is also the Zonal Guidance and Counsellor.
Her current position with the OCI Foundation allows her to continue in her stride to help people thrive in their society.
