OCI Foundation parleys with Nigeria’s Labour Minister, Dr Chris NGIGE (OON), at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, Nigeria (12/10/2022)

On Wednesday, October 12, 2022, a delegation of the Onyebuchi Chris Ifediora (OCI) Foundation, led by her National Champion, Rev Dr Austin EPUNAM, had an unscheduled meeting with His Excellency, Dr Chris Nwabueze NGIGE (OON), at the Presidential Wing of the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, Nigeria.

Dr Ngige is the current Nigeria’s Minister of Labour and Employment, and was a former Executive Governor of Anambra State, South-east Nigeria.

At the impromptu meeting, Dr Ngige commended the OCI Foundation and her associates for their impactful programs on health, education, and social welfare, from which lots of Nigerians from all parts of the country, are benefitting from.

On its part, the OCI Foundation appreciated Dr Ngige for the eventual resolution of the protracted industrial action that had been embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). The strike grounded academic activities in Nigerian tertiary institutions for 8 months, starting from February 2022.

In addition to being the OCI Foundation’s National Champion, Rev Dr Austin Epunam is also the Founder of the Sweet Home Africa Humanitarian Foundation (SHAHF), producers of the prestigious Sweet Home Magazine.

Among Rev Epunam’s entourage to the Aso Rock Villa were Mr Luter Ikyobo (Social Engagement Officer, OCI Foundation), Mr Ikenna Onuzulike (National Co-ordinator, SHAHF), and Engineer Chijioke Ojukwu (MD, E.Ekesons Transports Limited). Others were Comrade Chief Basil Onuoha (Founder, Hall of Fame Awards) and Chief Mcgoshen Onwunzo (an Igbo leader within Nigeria’s FCT, Abuja).

The entire team were at the Presidential Wing of the Aso Rock Villa to celebrate with Chief Femi Adesina (OON), the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Nigerian President, following his decoration as an “Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON)”. Chief Adesina is also the “Executive Ambassador to the OCI Foundation”.
