OCI foundation has officially flag-of the program “Arm our youths Health Campaign” which is targeted to equip the young women and men with the know-how to curtail the risk of breast and cervical cancers in the society which is in a tricky situation. The foundation flag-off its campaign with an event at the auditorium of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) auditorium.

Founder and president of OCI Foundation, Dr. Chris Ifediora in his speech said OCI foundation is designed to be a wide-reaching, sustainable and cost-effective way of spreading anti-breast and Anti-cervical cancer massages to millions of at-risk Nigeria women in a way that is timely, efficient and culturally-acceptable.

Primarily, the campaign targets students across all senior secondary schools in Nigeria by introducing the relevant teachings into their regular academic curriculum, along with assessment/examination systems.

“By 2025, it will benefit all the schools, across all the communities, and all the local government areas in all the states and geo-political regions of the Nigerian nation. Anambra state is only the first state to benefit, and has this privilege because the foundation’s activities commenced here three years ago and have gained lots of support, goodwill and the necessary buy-in needed to excel”. Ifediora informed

The Vice-Chancellor, of UniZik Professor Charles Okechukwu Esemone in an interview with journalists commended the initiative of the foundation emphasizing that it is a welcome initiative. He stressed that with the quality structure put in place by the foundation, it is destined to succeed. It is good that the program is targeted at the youths, and focusing on prevention, which is better than a cure. We are proud to associate with them.

Esimone called on government agencies, philanthropists, business moguls, wealthy and privileged Nigerians to support the movement. The best invasions are the once that are targeted at the youths. He advised the foundation to set up a trust fund where the public can contribute in helping to sustain it even beyond Anambra state.

OCI foundation whose App is OCICorviBreast is registered both in Nigeria and Australia and has given scholarship and educational activities that have benefitted dozens of brilliant but less privileged students and pupils, across junior secondary, senior secondary, and tertiary institutions

The high point of the event was the issuing of the certificate of ambassadorship to Unizik, Innoson, Nze Uche Nwaora amongst others and group pictures.
