The OCI Foundation has identified with a soccer outfit, the Amumu Village FC, which is one of the clubs that featured at the “2020 Nsugbe Orula Soccer Competition” that was conducted as part of the festivities for the 2020 Christmas and 2021 New year celebrations. The competition is an annual event, and the Amumu Village team finished in the semi-finals of this latest event.
The OCI Foundation’s President, Dr Chris Ifediora, is from Amumu Village, Nsugbe, Anambra State of Nigeria, and this gesture, which included the provision of a full set of soccer boots and jersey, along with funds for the team’s refreshments during matches, is part of the OCI Foundation’s activities on Advance Social & Public Welfare, one of its 3 main activity-tripod.
Established in 2016, the OCI Foundation is an international NGO that is registered in both Nigeria and Australia, and has activities across 3 major areas, which are to “Promote and Advance Health”, “Advance Education”, and “Advance Social & Public Welfare” among the Nigerian populace.
In the past 3 years, indigenes of Nsugbe, the Founder’s home town, have been major beneficiaries of the OCI Foundation’s activities, particularly its annual educational scholarship schemes. More benefits are expected in the coming years, not just for Nsugbe indigenes, but the rest of Nigerians.
