Press Release: OCI Foundation now has DGR Status!!!

“OCI Foundation Limited” now an Australian-registered charity body

We are pleased to announce that the OCI Foundation now has a “Deductible Gifts-Recipients (DGR)” status”. This is with effect fom June 4th, 2018, and comes shortly after the Foundation’s endorsement as a a charity body that primarily “Promotes Health” by the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) and the Australian Taxation Office.

This development means that donations (cash, gifts or otherwise) to the our Foundation will be tax deductible.

In our earlier publication (available here), we had announced our recognition as a  charity body that “Advances Health”, “Advances Education”, and “Advances Social and Public Welfare”.

This is great news, not only for the OCI Foundation, but for all the less privileged who stand to benefit from our activities on health, education, and social/public welfare issues.

Combined with the registration we had hitherto enjoyed with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) of Nigeria (since the 29th day of April 2016), these latest developments further improves our standing as an international charity organization.

It heightens our confidence that we can now achieve our goal of going beyond the thousands of beneficiaries we currently serve, to reach out to millions of people over the coming years.

We are grateful to the Clayton Utz Lawyers, for their expert legal services in bringing this whole dream to fruition. We also thank all our Directors, Trustees, Staff and numerous volunteers (across Nigeria, Australia, United Kingdom, and the USA), who have toiled day and night to ensure that we continue to fulfil our promises.

We give God all the glory.
