NYSC to empower corps members to be self reliant

The Director General of NYSC, Major General Shuaibu Ibrahim has given assurance that corps members will be adequately engaged to address unemployment and insecurity in the Country.
Major General Shuaibu gave the assurance during a meeting between the Management of the NYSC and an NGO, OCI Foundation in Abuja.
He explained that with the Arm Our Youths Anti-Cancer Health Campaign Initiative of the Foundation, the proposed NYSC Trust Fund and other programmes of the Scheme, Corps members would no longer wait for white collar jobs.
General Shuaibu said that corps members would provide all services required of them under the Health Initiative.
The President of the Foundation, Professor Chris Ifediora expressed the commitment of the Foundation towards ensuring success in the Breast and Cervical Cancer Campaign to be championed by Corps members across the thirty-six states and the FCT.
Professor Ifediora said the Foundation was hopeful of expanding the project to be all encompassing.
