SHORTLIST FOR INTERVIEW: THE 2020 (MAIDEN) EDITION OF THE CYFED-BRADLEY HOPE SCHOLARSHIP

The OCI Foundation is pleased to announce that the following applicants for the 2020 Cyfed-Bradley Hope (CBH) Scholarship Award have successfully progressed to Round 2, which is the Interview Phase. The interviews will hold between Saturday, November the 21st, and Monday, November the 23rd, 2020.

We are aware that a number of the shortlisted candidates are yet to submit their supporting documents, and are mindful of the challenges orchestrated by the COVID-19 Pandemic. We wish to state, however, that only those that have submitted their complete supporting documents, will participate in the scheduled interviews. Any candidate that still has any difficulty on his/her supporting documents before the interview dates, should please contact the OCI Foundation at info@ocifoundation.org. The names of the shortlisted candidates are in the table below.

It should be noted that the Cyfed-Bradley Hope (CBH) Undergraduate Scholarship Award is one of the six scholarship schemes of the OCI Foundation. It was established in January 2020, following the sad passing of Bradley John Hope (July 18th, 2003 to December 8th, 2019). Brad was a kind-hearted, 16-year old Australian who tragically lost his life following a freak domestic accident in December 8th, 2019. His dad, Mr Troy Hope and the entire Hope Family (see the picture below), in conjunction with the OCI Foundation, established the CBH in his memory. Details of the CBH scholarship can be found HERE.

Even though the OCI Foundation had postponed the finalisation of the CBH scholarship since the applications closed on April 26th, 2020, the decision to proceed with the completion of this year’s program has become necessary as Brad’s first death anniversary is only 4 weeks away (on December 8th, 2020). His family needs to have this year’s scholarship program concluded ahead of the event marking this first memorial anniversary.

Applicants to the other pending undergraduate scholarship of the OCI Foundation, the Cyfed Undergraduate Scholarship, will not affected by this announcement. As such, the OCI Foundation’s decision to suspend the processing of their own applications until one month after all tertiary institutions in Nigeria resume, is still in place. May Bradley Hope’s gentle soul, continue to rest in peace. Amen.
