The story: OCI Foundation at the 2021 World Cancer Day, as she partners with the ESLF, MWAN, NMA and other organisations in Makurdi, Nigeria (February 4th, 2021)

On Thursday, February the 4th, 2021, the OCI Foundation participated in its second “2020 World Cancer Day” event in as many years. This time, the event was held at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria.

The event, championed by the Benue State Branch of the Medical Women Association of Nigeria (MWAN) featured talks and a free cervical cancer screening exercise. The Eunice Spring of Life Foundation, an official partner to the OCI Foundation on the ArOY anti-cancer Health Campaign, as well as the official NGO established by the First Lady of Benue State, was also in attendance.

Other groups that participated at the event were APIN Public Health Initiatives, First Step Action for Children Initiative, and Gender and Environmental Risk Reduction Initiative. Others were the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), the Federation of Muslim Women Associations in Nigeria (FOMWAN), and the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD).

The OCI Foundation, whose branded 7-seater vehicle was officially used for the event, was represented by a 4-man delegation that Dorcas Jen (the Foundation’s Secretary in Benue State), Felicia Dagu (the Admin Officer), Luter Ikyobo (the Social and Entertainment Liaison officer), and Queen Vera Iortyer (Miss Tiv, and the Foundation’s Face of ArOY Campaign in Benue State).
