Winner of the OCI Foundation’s Car Donation to the Nigerian Bar Association emerges (December 11th, 2020)

On Friday, December the 11th, 2020, Barr Chizoba Vivian ONOCHIE won the Star Prize of a Toyota Corolla Car, which was the top prize of the Raffle Draw organized as part of the “2020 Week of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Onitsha Branch. The car was donated by the Onyebuchi Chris Ifediora (OCI) Foundation, as part of its quest to support young lawyers that are interested in pro-bono (free) legal cases for indigent Nigerians.

The Car Prize is one of the activities for the Dinner that capped the week-long activities of the 2020 NBA Week (December 9th to 12th, 2020). The NBA is the peak body of Nigerian legal practitioners.

In addition to the car, the OCI Foundation also delivered a health lecture on breast, cervical and prostate cancer preventative strategies, which is of the Foundation’s Arm Our Youths (ArOY) Health Campaign that seeks to introduce anti-breast and anti-cervical cancer teachings into the curriculum of all senior secondary schools in Nigeria, and for all Nigerians.

Alongside the car and the lecture, the OCI Foundation also pledged to partner with the NBA in rendering pro-bono legal services to Nigerians, starting from 2021. The OC Foundation was established in 2016 as a Nigerian NGO designed to “Promote and Advance Health”, “Advance Education”, and “Advance Social & Public Welfare” among the Nigerian populace. In 2018, it attained an international status with full registration in Australia as well.

Barr Steve Onyechi ONONYE, the current Chairman of the NBA, Onitsha Branch, Nigeria, is the OCI Foundation’s Legal Adviser.
