Saturday, April 10th, 2021: Caverra World Organisation held its Teens Hangout in Lagos, Nigeria. This was in collaboration with the OCI Foundation. At the event, the teens were given a talk on “Overcoming Low Self Esteem” by the CEO of Caverra World, Mrs Roseline Anijekwu, who is also the Lagos Champion of the OCI Foundation’s Arm Our Youths Health campaign.
The Teens were also enlightened more on what the OCI Foundation stands for, particularly on the anti-breast and anti-cervical cancer messages of the Foundation. They were particularly impressed to note that the causative agent of cervical cancer can be transmitted through sexual intercourse, and that the scourge has its roots in the teenage years.
The Female Teenage Face of OCI Foundation 2020 (Miss Chideraa IBE) along with the Male Face of 2019, both addressed their fellow teens.
The Arm Our Youths Campaign, otherwise known as the “ArOY Campaign”, is a Harvard-endorsed, evidence-based health promotion initiative of the OCI Foundation. The Campaign aims to integrate anti-breast and cervical cancer teachings into the curriculum of Nigerian senior secondary (high) schools, using a cost-effective, all-encompassing, sustainable and culturally-acceptable strategy.
