NGO awards scholarships to 35 indigent students in Anambra

The Onyebuchi Chris Ifediora (OCI) Foundation has awarded scholarships to 35 indigent secondary students in Anambra State to help build their future and encourage them in their studies.
Presenting the awards at Otuocha in Anambra East council, the founder, Dr. Chris Ifediora, explained that the 2019 beneficiaries consists of 12 senior and 23 junior secondary students. Ifediora said the beneficiaries were selected from various schools in Anambra East, Anambra West and Ayamelum councils which forms the food belt area in the state.
He recalled that eight other students in tertiary institutions had also benefitted from the foundation’s scholarship under the Cyfed Undergraduate Scholarships Scheme.
He further said that winners of the IFOMSSA Award for senior secondary students were examined in English language, Mathematics, Biology and Civic Education, adding that the junior awards were strictly for the best students of Nsugbe community origin.
Giving more details, he stressed that each winner at the senior category received N30,000 to cover their 2019 external examination registration fees, while their junior counterparts received N5,000 each.
