Dr Fatima Inusa, “LAMS Initiative” Liaison Officer, and Director, Gynocular Cancer Project, OCI Foundation
Dr Anga Fatima Inusa is a medical practitioner attached to the OCI Foundation’s Advocacy Team in Abuja (Nigeria), and is also the Foundation’s Liaison Officer for the LAMS Initiative. The LAMS (Literary Award for Medical Students) Initiative was introduced in August 2020, in conjunction with the South East Zone of the Nigerian Medical Student’s Association (NiMSA) , with the aim of identifying, inspiring and rewarding medical students who show literary dexterity. The initiative is expected to cover all the NiMSA zones in Nigeria over the next few years.
She is also a Director of the OCI Foundation’s Gynocular Cervical Cancer Project, an initiative designed to introduce free or highly subsidized digital cervical cancer screening service for Nigerians.
Dr Fatima obtained her primary Medical degree (MBBS) from University of Jos, Nigeria, and is presently a Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Her humanitarian tendencies goes beyond her involvement in the OCI Foundation, as she uses her medical skills to serve her community as the opportunity presents itself. During the COVID 19 Pandemic, for instance, she worked as a frontline medical staff in one of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) isolation and treatment centers in Abuja, Nigeria.
This young and efficient medical practitioner has held positions in medical-related associations. She is an active member of the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD), and has been a Chairperson of the “Blood Drive Committee” under the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Community Development Service (CDS) group during her National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) program. She was also a prominent member of the Member Muslim Corpers Association of Nigeria during her service year.
The OCI Foundation is pleased with the youthful passion and energy that Dr Fatima adds to the team.
