Ebele Okaro Onyiuke of the Nollywood fame, is an Educationist, as well as a graduate of Theatre Arts from the University of Calabar, Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria.
In August 2019, she became an Official Ambassador of the Arm Our Youths Health Campaign, an innovative, Harvard-endorsed and evidence-based initiative of the OCI Foundation.
Ebele is a script writer, TV presenter, TV Producer, Filmmaker, Entrepreneur, Philanthropist and an Actress. She has featured in over 200 movies and has, over the years, won national and international awards.
Ebele is the CEO of a Lagos-based Production outfit called Flat Feet Productions Limited. Through this, she has produced a number of movies, notably, the Musical Whispers (which treated the issue of Autism), and Reflections. The latter film is an 85-episode soap opera that, to its credit, brought about great positive societal changes in the Southern part of Nigeria due to its exposure of issues bordering on child (young girl) trafficking, child labour, lack of grassroots education, as well as fake churches and their negative impact on the society.
Widely known as Mama Nollywood, Ebele’s aim has always been to inform her targeted-audience through “edutainment“. This, she achieves through a mix of drama, songs and dances, and all are presented in unique, relaxing atmospheres for viewers, which allows her to drive home her well-organized messages.
This versatile, gifted lady has, to her credit, about nine years’ experience in the Banking Industry, where she acquired her managerial and public relation abilities. These qualities have enabled her excel in her current profession.
Ebele worked with the Australian High Commission, Lagos, Nigeria. She was in charge of students’ visa and the educational scholarship’s that were awarded to both Nigerian and Ghanaian students.
Ebele’s main drive has, and will always be, to leave an endearing impact of positivity on the society via her broad acting base and social media presence. In furtherance of these values, it comes as no surprise that she accepted to be an Ambassador of the OCI Foundation’s Arm Our Youths Health Campaign. She has already featured in a breast self-examination (BSE) video, and is playing a key role in popularizing the life-saving messages of the Campaign in both the Nollywood industry, and over half a million followers on social media.
