Juliet Mimi Atedze, Champion, Arm Our Youths Campaign, Lagos, Nigeria
Mrs Juliet Mimi Atedze is a versatile Media Personality cum Journalist, a Social Media Influencer, a Blogger and Human Rights Worker, and joined the OCI Foundation as a Champion of her Arm Our Youths (ArOY) Campaign in January 2020.
She is the Founder and Chief Editor of the Fabmimi Blog, a News, Politics, Entertainment, Fashion, Lifestyle and Events portal. The Fabmimi Blog has grown from being a news blog to a brand, and has numerous media consultancy deals with local and international organisations. Through these avenues, she plays a crucial role as an unheard voice in the land who does little things to make positive impact on lives.
Mimi started her career in Journalism after obtaining an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Mass Communication from Benue State University, Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria. After her graduation she worked with Pavilion Newspaper, and was posted to Government House, Makurdi, as a correspondent. When democracy returned to Nigeria in 1999, she was appointed the Personal Assistant on Media and Protocol to the first female Speaker in Benue State. After this assignment, Mimi continued with the Benue State Civil Service as an Information Officer. Her bold and brave stand against corruption through her Blog and Social Media activities caused her to lose her job with the civil service.
