Mrs Imelda V. E. Emeka is the OCI Foundation’s Domestic Liaison Officer. She joined the Foundation in October 2017, immediately following her retirement after a meritorious service with the Post Primary Schools Service Commission (PPSSC) Awka, under the Ministry of Education, Anambra State of Nigeria.
Mrs Emeka holds a Bachelor’s Degree (Microbiology) from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Nigeria, as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of Jos, also in Nigeria.
She had been a teacher since the 1980s, and rose through the ranks to become a secondary school principal in 2000.
Her dedication to service and competence got her the position of a Zonal Director of Education, Post Primary Schools Service Commission, (PPSSC), Otuocha Zone of Anambra State, Nigeria, where she was in charge of all state government-owned secondary schools across 3 of the 21 local government areas in the state. In this capacity, Mrs Emeka successfully managed thousands of secondary school students across the 26 schools in the Otuocha Zone, as well as hundreds of their teachers and school principals.
This trustworthy lady has attended multiple conferences in Nigeria and overseas, and is a recipient of a number of merit awards due to her distinguished professional services.
The OCI Foundation was privileged to work with her in her capacity as the Zonal Director of Education of the PPSSC, Otuocha Zone, where most of Foundation’s projects were focused on in 2017. We are grateful that she accepted to join us following her retirement from active service.
We have witnessed first-hand her high organizational skills and extreme prudence in resource management. For this reason, we are confident that she is a huge addition to the Foundation, and know that she will help co-ordinate our ever-growing activities in Nigeria, and hopefully, Africa.
