The “Humanitarian Service Award” was bestowed on the OCI Foundation’s President, Dr Chris Ifediora, during the annual Bar Week Dinner of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) on Friday, December 11th, 2020. The NBA is the peak body of all legal practitioners in Nigeria.

Through the OCI Foundation, Dr Chris has touched lives, inspired lives, and lifted lives. The organisation was established in 2016 as a Nigerian NGO designed to “Promote and Advance Health”, “Advance Education”, and “Advance Social & Public Welfare among the Nigerian populace. In 2018, the OCI Foundation attained an international status with full registration in Australia as well.

At the NBA Week that was held from December 9th to 12th, 2020, the OCI Foundation presented a talk on Breast, Cervical and Prostate Cancer Prevention Strategies, and donated a car that was used for a raffle draw. The car donation was in support of free (pro-bono) legal services for the NBA, through which they assist indigent Nigerians with legal problems.

The OCI Foundation also announced that they will partner with the Onitsha Branch of the NBA to render pro-bono services in an ongoing basis. This will be from 2021.
