On Wednesday, November 15, 2023, the OCI Foundation was among the high-profile dignitaries invited to the launch of the pet project by the Ebonyi State, First Lady, Her Excellency, Chief (Mrs) Mary-Maudlin Uzoamaka NWIFURU. The pet project is tagged, “Better Health for Rural Women, Children and Internally Displaced Persons Foundation (BERWO)”.
The event was held at the Christian Ecumenical Centre, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State. Video and pictures from the event are shown below.
Alongside the OCI Foundation were some serving Nigerian Ministers and State Governors, among other dignitaries. Hon. (Mrs.) Chinwe OKAH, the Ebonyi State Commissioner for Budget Planning and a long-term associate of the OCI Foundation, was also in attendance.
Dr Amuchechukwu NWAFOR led the OCI Foundation’s team, which also included Dr Nkechinyere Nwachukwu and Dr Nnenna NWASU, as well as Mr John-Wilson Ojukwu and Mr Richard Chukwuezi.
The OCI Foundation is hoping to work with BERWO and the Ebonyi State Government in extending its Arm Our Youths (ArOY) anti-cancer health campaign to schools in Ebonyi State, as part of a larger quest to ensure that every part of Nigeria benefits from the life-saving initiative.
