During the visit to Senator Uba, Rev. Dr. Austine Ifeanyi Epunam (JP), the Founder of SHAHF and Facilitator of the Award Event, presented a complimentary copy of the Sweet Home Magazine to Senator Uba, who represents the Anambra South Senatorial District at the red chambers of the Nigerian Senate. A request was also made to Senator Uba to Chair the award event on September 28th.
In attendance at the visit were other members of the SHAHF and OCI Foundation, Mr Ifeanyi Anueyiagu and Mr Luter Ikyobo. They were joined by some Royal Fathers, including Ezeigbo C.C. Okoli (of Suleja, Niger State) and Igwe Ochendo Ogidi-Igbo of Ado kingdom, Abuja (the Lion King). The Royal Fathers thanked the Senator for standing for less-privileged Nigerians.
In his response, Senator Uba, who is the President of the Ifeanyi Uba Foundation, along with his wife, Lady Uche Uba (the Vice President), thanked the delegation for the gesture. Hon. Vin Onyeka, the Director General of the Ifeanyi Uba Foundation, was also in attendance.
SHAHF was founded by Rev Dr. Epunam and others 20 years ago, in Europe 20, as part of the plans to stop unplanned oversea trips by Africans. It was registered in Nigeria in 2006 to support and advocate good governance and discourage youths from dangerous ventures.
The OCI Foundation collaborates with the Ifeanyi Uba Foundation (established by Senator Ifeanyi Uba) and Sweet Home Africa Humanitarian Foundation on multiple areas, particularly on the “Arm Our Youths (ArOY) Anti-cancer Health Campaign” with the Nigerian National Youths Service Corps (NYSC), which is being felt positively by hundreds of thousands of Nigerian youths across the country.
Another area of collaboration stems from Dr Uba’s firm support and commitment to the OCI Foundation’s anti-cancer Bill that aims to integrate anti-breast and anti-cervical cancer teachings into the curriculum of Senior Secondary Schools in Nigeria.
