Touching: Dominica, an OCI Foundation Volunteer, Lost Close Friend to Cervical Cancer, and Now Champions Anti-Cancer Fight (Dec, 2022)

Sharing is caring!

Just two weeks after the death of her bossom friend and classmate from cervical cancer, Dominica got to know about the OCI Foundation through Rev Dr Austin Epunam, the Foundation’s National Champion (and also the Founder of the Sweet Home Africa Humanitarian Foundation).

Her late friend, described by Dominica as a beautiful, lovely lady with a golden heart, was married with four children. She died at 50.

On learning about the OCI Foundation and its innovative CerviBreast Mobile Phone Application, Dominica Ezeanyagu realised that the knowledge from the Foundation’s technology-backed Campaign could have saved her friend’s live, had it been available years ago.

She has since shown interest, and now volunteers to the Arm Our Youths Anti-Cancer Health Campaign. I her words, “I don’t want to lose or hear that anyone around me lost their beloved wives, sisters or friends to breast or cervical cancer again. With the OCI CerviBreast link, I have started telling friends and people around me about this [ArOY] Campaign and the importance of self-checking and visiting of hospital for check-ups”.

Dominica Ezeanyagu is a Director at Chisoeche Ventures Nigeria, a real estate agency that also deals in, and supplies all types of tiles. She resides in Asaba, Delta State, and is an indigene of Uga, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra state, Nigeria.
