02 Dec 2020 OCI Foundation set to donate a car to the Nigerian Bar Association, Onitsha Branch, Nigeria.
As part of the activities for the Nigerian Bar Association’s (NBAs) “2020 Bar Week” (December 9th to 13th, 2020), the OCI Foundation has finalised plans to donate a vehicle to the Onitsha Branch of the body in Nigeria. The NBA is the peak body of all legal practitioners in Nigeria.
The donated car, which is one of two Honda cars acquired by the OCI Foundation in November 2020, will be won by one of the junior lawyers through a raffle draw that will be held during the Dinner event on Friday, December the 11th, 2020. The car is expected to be used primarily for activities related to pro-bono cases by the lawyer(s).
The gesture from the OCI Foundation marks the beginning of an OCI-NBA partnership, which will see the OCI Foundation expand its activities into the provision of legal services to underprivileged Nigerians. Details of this will be made more obvious by 2021.
It should be noted that Barr Steve Onyechi ONONYE, the current Chairman of Onitsha Branch of NBA, is the OCI Foundation’s Legal Adviser and Secretary.
