December 23, 2021; Nsugbe, Nigeria.

The OCI Foundation has, once again, identified with a soccer outfit, the Amumu Village FC, which is one of the clubs that feature in the annual “Nsugbe Orula Soccer Competition“. The competition holds yearly as part of the Christmas and New Year festivities.

As was the case in the previous year (2020, which was the first edition), the OCI Foundation, represented by the Overseer of its Empowerment activities (Mrs Anthonia CHIGBATA), presented the soccer outfit with brand new jerseys. Soccer boots, refreshments and other logistic supports were part of the support provided to the team in the past.

The OCI Foundation’s President, Dr Chris Ifediora, is from Amumu Village, Nsugbe, Anambra State of Nigeria. This gesture is part of the OCI Foundation’s activities on Advance Social & Public Welfare, one of its 3 main activity-tripod.

Established in 2016, the OCI Foundation is an international NGO that is registered in both Nigeria and Australia, and has activities across 3 major areas, which are to “Promote and Advance Health”, “Advance Education”, and “Advance Social & Public Welfare among the Nigerian populace.

In the past 4 years, indigenes of Nsugbe, the Founder’s home town, have been major beneficiaries of the OCI Foundation’s activities, particularly its annual educational scholarship schemes, and social welfare/empowerment programs. More benefits are expected in the coming years, not just for Nsugbe indigenes, but the rest of Nigerians.
