MODULE 1B: Benefits of the ArOY Health Campaign to Volunteers and Corps Members

EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of this Module, participants are expected to:

1. Know about the HEALTH benefits of the ArOY Health Campaign to corps members;
2. Know about the ECONOMIC (SHORT AND LONG TERM) benefits of the ArOY Health Campaign to corps members;
3. Know about the CDS benefits of the ArOY Health Campaign to corps members, while in their service year.

OPTION 3: ONLINE LESSON TEXT

Multiple benefits (short term, long term, personal, economic and others) exist for corps members that will engage with this program, particularly those who will undertake the Teacher’s Training Course on offer by the OCI Foundation (See Course 1 here: https://ocifoundation.org/courses/). Some of these benefits are explained below:

1. Health Gains (Personal and Otherwise): This is the primary benefit, given that the corps members will be empowered to look after their health. In addition, they can assist in empowering their family members, friends, associates, girlfriends, wives, daughters, granddaughters, aunties, grandparents, and so on.

2. Immediate Financial Gains: Can win the Corps Members OCI Foundation’s Raffle Draw: Results to be known by the 3^rd week of the orientation activities. Late financial gains as well, as the program boosts their employability with NGOs (see below).

3. Teaching Skills: If they complete the OCI Foundation’s Teacher’s Training Course (Course 1: https://ocifoundation.org/courses/) and obtain the associated certificate, they can fit into the larger Arm Our Youths Health Campaign project, as they can become eligible to teach the program in schools, if deployed therein.

1. 4. CDS Project: Gives them options for Community Development Service (CDS) projects: can engage communities, schools, and so on. Click HERE, to learn more about the Personal CDS prospects, and a Challenge that gives you a chance to make One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (N150,000) per annum.

5. Improved Job Prospects: The certificate (for those who complete the Teacher’s Training Course) and CDS experiences increases the chances of employability with governmental and non-governmental bodies, both at national and international bodies.

6. Improved Overseas Prospects: Given the ArOY Campaign’s international backing and relevance, the prospects of overseas studies, scholarships, workshops, and other programs will be boosted on obtaining the certificates associated with the Teacher’s Course.

7. Chance with OCI Foundation: The corps members also have a higher chance of joining the OCI Foundation (national or international), if they complete the online “Teaching Course”, and obtain the relevant certificate thereafter. Volunteers who complete the relevant courses (OCI Foundation’s Courses 1 and/or 4) will be eligible to obtain “Reference Letters” from the OCI Foundation in support of their applications for Jobs, Visas, Scholarships, and so on.
