Medical students in the eight medical schools in the South East are to slug it out in the Litrary Award for Medical Students (LAMS) essay competition floated by Onyebuchi Chris Ifediora (OCI), a Non-Governmental organisation.

The competition is open to all the eight Medical Students Associations (MSAs) within the South-East Zone of the Nigerian Medical Student Association (NiMSA).

Medical students enrolled with any of the medical schools are eligible. They include:

Abia State University Medical Students Association, Alex Ekwueme Federal University Medical Students Association, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Medical Students Association and Ebonyi State University Medical Students Association.

Others are: Enugu State University Medical Students Association, Imo State University Medical Students Association, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Medical Students Association and University of Nigeria Medical Students Association.

Onyebuchi said that with time, the OCI Foundation will consider extending the LAMS Initiative to all the remaining medical schools.
