28 Apr 2020 END OF 2020 CYFED SCHOLARSHIP ONLINE APPLICATIONS; DOCUMENT-SUBMISSION DEADLINE EXTENDED.
Friends, associates, well-wishers, and the entire OCI Foundation Family, we greet you all.
As has been the tradition, applications for both the OCI Foundation’s Cyfed Undergraduate Scholarship (CUS) and the newly-introduced Cyfed Bradley Hope (CBH) Scholarship ended less than 48 hours ago, on April the 26th, 2020. This was as scheduled, and follows the applications that commenced on the midnight of February the 22nd, 2020.
We are pleased to observe that, despite the unprecedented challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, a lot of quality applications for both the CUS and the CBH scholarship schemes, were received. The OCI Foundation commends the doggedness of the applicants, and wish them all the very best with the next phases of the scholarship selection process.
While the portal for the online applications have now closed, and will not be extended, the Foundation will delay the shortlisting of candidates that will progress to the interview phase. This move has become necessary, in view of the COVID-19 pandemic, so as to allow time for some candidates that have already submitted their online applications, to obtain and send in the necessary supporting documents. We received a lot of inquiries from concerned candidates regarding this. While we will not normally extend the time, these are unprecedented times, and this move, in our view, is fair.
For clarity, starting from whenever universities in Nigeria re-open, the OCI Foundation will allow up to one 4 weeks for interested applicants to send in their documents. Things will move fast afterwards, as the shortlisting, interviews, document verifications, and the final announcements, will be completed as soon as possible after the four weeks. Please, may we all be reminded that any application that is not backed with supporting documents, will be deemed incomplete, and will not be processed. Posted at 06:11h, 21 FebruaryYou do not need to start a fresh application. Only the outstanding documents need to be submitted, though the email address provided. As a matter of fact, no fresh application will be received, as the deadlines have passed.
