The 2021 OCI Foundation’s Literary Award for Medical Students (LAMS) Essay Competition (South-east Nigeria)

The OCI Foundation is proud to announce the commencement of the 2021 edition of an essay competition for students enrolled in the eight medical schools in Southeast Nigeria. The OCI Foundation is the sole sponsor of this competition, and has earmarked thousands of Nigerian Naira for this. Reasons and rationale for the OCI Foundation’s involvement can be found HERE. Simply, it was borne out the desire of the OCI Foundation’s President, Assoc Prof Chris Ifediora (himself a one-time medical student in Nigeria), to inspire literary prowess among future Nigerian medical doctors.

To deliver on this, the OCI Foundation is collaborating with the Southeast region of the Nigerian Medical Students Association (NiMSA). NiMSA is the umbrella body of all medical students’ associations in Nigeria.

Briefly explain the OCI Foundation’s “Arm Our Youths (ArOY) Health Campaign”, and critically analyse the principles behind its strategy to “integrate anti-breast and anti-cervical cancer teachings into the curriculum senior schools in Nigeria.

ELIGIBILITY

Participants must be Nigerian Medical Students with valid ID cards from any recognized medical school in South-east Nigeria. Any level study is acceptable.
