MODULE 1C: Steps for delivering ArOY Health Campaign talks by Volunteers

NOTE: Before attempting any of the accompanying quizzes, there are 3 ways to complete the lessons. All 3 options contain identical information, and only one of the three can be used for the study. Kindly note that, whichever option is chosen, all the quizzes must be attempted and passed before a certificate is obtained for the Course. These options are:

1C.2: PRACTICAL STEPS TO FOLLOW IN EACH OF THE 1 HOUR TALKS

The following topics can be covered in 45 minutes by any volunteer corps member that offer to undertake this sensitization in any location within Nigeria. We strongly recommend that these steps be adhered to. A flyer for this can be downloaded HERE. It can be used to deliver talks.

Here are the steps to follow:

1. Brief Introduction of the OCI Foundation’s Arm Our Youths (ArOY) Health Campaign: Just a brief mention of the Campaign as it relates to Nigerian senior secondary schools, the youths and the larger populace. A mention to the OCI Foundation, the body behind it. This will take about 5 minutes.

2. Invite the participants to Download the OCI CerviBreast App. This automatically gives them access to the ArOY Campaign, constantly available at their fingertips. Having the App will also allow them to get regular reminders for breast and cervical cancer checks, and helps them access all the relevant information and services easily, and at all times. About 5 minutes should be allowed for this.

3. Brief Talk on Cervical Cancer: Facts and Preventive Strategies (USE FLYER) About 10 minutes should be allowed for this.

4. Brief Talk on Breast Cancer: Facts and Preventive Strategies (USE FLYER). About 10 minutes should be allowed for this.

5. Brief Introduction of the “OCI CerviBreast” App. About 5 minutes should be allowed for this.

6. Quick Quiz (using the App): To stimulate interest and increase engagement with the program. Only those that have the App can participate in this Quiz, as it is accessible online. About 5 minutes should be allowed for this.

7. Questions and Answers: The participants should be advised to direct all questions to the OCI Foundation using the Phone App (there is a provision for that). However, a few 5 minutes can be allowed to address any questions the presenter is comfortable to handle, and to clarify any issues that might come up. About 5 minutes should be allowed for this.
