The night of Sunday, the 24th day of January, was another memorable one for the OCI Foundation, as its Founder, Dr Chris Ifediora, was again honoured with another recognition. This time, it was the “Merit Award for Excellence”, which was bestowed on him as part of the “2020 Luster Beam Entertainment (LBE) Award” ceremony, held at the Ornate Pavillion Centre, at the City of Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria.

The LBE is an organisation that deals with event planning and management, among other things, and defines their mission as redefining “the global impact of the media and entertainment industry by focusing on potent content and social advocacy….

In recognising Dr Ifediora, the LBE stated that “Our luster beamed on you, in recognition of your dedication and support to the industry and humanity”.

This honour marks the 7th in as six months, for the OCI Foundation’s President, Associate Professor Chris Ifediora. Professor Ifediora was also listed among one of the “Six Most Passionate Nigerian Leaders of 2020“, alongside influential governors, technocrats and other highly placed Nigerians. The other 6 awards included those from the Rotary International’s Humanitarian Platinum Service Award (August 2020) and the Nigerian Bar Association’s Humanitarian Service Award (December 2020), with the latter being the body of legal practitioners in Nigeria). There were also awards from Caverra World, as Man of the Year (November 2020), King David SOCAPA Excellence in Humanitarian Services Award (December 2020), the Ayatutu Family’s Most Innovative Humanitarian Service Provider Award (January 2021), and the Humanitarian Man of the Year Award, by the Fame Empire Awards (January 2021).

The OCI Foundation was represented at the award ceremony by a team led by its Social and Entertainment Liaison Officer, Mr Luter Ikyobo, who was accompanied by other members of the Foundation’s Advocacy Team in Jos, Plateau State of Nigeria.
